An interview for the staff recruitment was held in our premises on 15-04-2015. The following Lecturers were newly recruited and appointed in June 2015.

Staff Orientation Programme
08-06-2015
The annual Orientation programme for the staff was conducted on 08-06-2015 in our College campus. The Teaching & Non-Teaching staff from Madonna College & School, Vijaya Mary integrated school for the blind (English & Telugu) participated in this Programme. Rev. Father Lamu Jaya Raju was the Resource person for this Orientation programme. He said that teacher is light of the student’s life. Further he has motivated the staff with the verses of Balagangadhar thilak who wanted every teacher should have commitment in teaching profession.
Sr. Chinni proposed the vote of thanks and the programme concluded at 4.30 p.m.
Special Mass for New Academic Year
06-07-2015.
A Special Mass offered for the Madonna College Students for the new academic year on 6th July 2015. Rev. Father Deva Kumar offered for the holy mass and prayed for the welfare of the students and staff members. He wished the students to remain in good health of mind and body. He advised the students to aim high and try to reach the goal of them.
Intramural Volley Ball Competition
09-07-2015.
Intramural Volley Ball Competition was held on 9th July 2015 in Madonna College premises. The competitions between Inter students and degree students were organized. The senior inter stood at first position and the degree second year students got the 2nd position. All the students and teachers involved in the competition enthusiastically.
Seminar for the Inter & Degree Student
15-07-2015.
A student’s seminar on ‘Goal setting’ with Fr. Deva kumar as the resource person was conducted during 15th July to 17th July 2015. Sr. Elizebeth Rani Principle of Madonna College welcomed the Resource person with a shawl. All the 265 students of the college participated in this seminar. All the students were enlightened through the seminar which included ‘Short term - medium term and long term goal setting. The resource person explained the rules of Happiness which is a personal choice, the types of decision making ( Inactive Decision making, Reactive Decision making, Proactive Decision making) and the steps to decision making viz., State the problem, Gather information about the problem, List pros and cons of the problem, Develop alternatives, Analyze alternatives, make a decision based on what is best for you and the situation, Implement and alternative and Evaluate and results of decision made.
Extra Seat Payment

As the rush for admission is more, we have admitted 12 new students more than the actual strength. Hence we have paid for the Extra seats (12x Rs. 1334) Rs. 15,972/- to Krishna University, through State bank of India Machilipatnam Bazar Branch on 19-07-2015.
N.S.S. Audit - 2014 – 2015
19-07-2015.
N.S.S. Account of our College for the academic year 2014 – 2015 was audited on 19-07-2015. The expenses for the allotted amount of Rs. 43, 500/- were audited and we have submitted Audit statement and one year report to the N.S.S office in Machilipatnam.
Unit Test – I

Madonna College have conducted the unit test - I from 28.07.2015 to 31.07.2015 for the Inter and Degree students.
30th Foundation Day
01-08-2015.
Madonna family has Celebrated 30th Foundation Day Celebrations on 01.08.2015. The Holy Eucharistic Celebrations was lead by Rev. Fr. Chinnappa. Fr. Raju, Fr. Ramesh and Fr. Royappa also offered the mass. They prayed for the welfare of our students. It was held at Madonna school campus. Our college students and staff was attended the function.
Activities of N.S.S. Unit
05-07-2015.
The first one day regular N.S.S. camp for the academic year 2015-16, was conducted at Nidamanuru in Krishna Dist. on 05-08-2015. Sr. Chinny, N.S.S. coordinator and Physical Educational Teacher Mrs. Kamalakshi lead the 32 N.S.S volunteers of our college. Our students cleansed the common water Tank at Nidamanuru. They planted 100 saplings in the street. The people of Nidamanuru have satisfied by the work done by the deaf students and got motivated. A Blood Donation Camp was also conducted on 06-09-2015.
Fresher’s Day
07-08-2015.
Fresher’s Day was celebrated on 7-08-2015. We have invited the fresher’s of Madonna, both Lecturers and Students. Rtn. K.V. Ramana Rao B.Com. L.L.B., Rotary Club of Vijayawada East was the Chief Guest of the Function. The fresher’s were welcomed with Rose flowers, sandle and kumkum. The function started with the lighting the lamp for the enlightenment of their future. Then senior students entertained the fresher’s by their various cultural activities for more than one hour. The function concluded with the National Anthem. Snacks were provided to all the students.
Inauguration of the Commerce Association
12-08-2015.
The inaugural of the Commerce Association for the academic year 2015 – 2016 was held on 12-08-2015. Dr.N.A. Francis Xavier, Head of the Commerce Department at Andhra Loyola College was the chief guest of the function. The function started with the lighting of the Lamp. The following leaders of Madonna had pronounced the oath to work for the welfare of Madonna.

Arts Classes

We started week long Kuchipudi classes from 18-08-201, for our students. There are 26 students taking part in the optional Training. Rev. Fr. James from Kadapa. Diocese was the trainer.
II Unit Test

We conducted II Unit test for our Inter & Degree students during 22-08-2015 to 26-08-2015.
Principal’s Meeting
18-08-2015.
Sr. Elizabeth Rani had attended Principal’s meeting held at Pondicherry on 18-08-2015 and the Second level of the meeting held on 24th August 2015, at Loyola College Chennai.
Educational Tour
27-08-2015.
Our Students have participated in the Educational tour organized during 27.08.2015 to 30.08.2015 to chennai & Mahabalipuram. 48 students participated and got exposed to city culture and life.
Teachers Day Celebration
05-09-2015.
Teacher’s day Celebration was held on 5th September, 2015. The formal function started at 9.30 a.m. with a procession lead by our students. They have conducted some games for the staff of our college followed by cultural programmers.
Prize in Bemus, a National Level Commerce Fest
07-09-2015.
Our students had participated Bemus 15 the commerce fest organized by the Commerce department of Andhra Loyola College on 07-09-2015. Our students Abilash, A. Srinivas, Bharat, Hema Naidu, participated in Dance competition and got the 2nd Prize in this National level Competition.
Madonna College Feast Day – 2015 and Unveiling of Mother Mary Croto
08-09-2015.
The feast day of the Madonna College was celebrated on 08-09-2015. Rev. Sr. Celine Mary superior in Madonna Convent has unveiled the newly constructed Mother Mary Croto. Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Asst youth Director in Vijayawada Diocese offered the Holy mass as well as blessed the Mother Mary Croto. This Croto has been constructed from the fine gesture (Rs 55,000) offered by the outgoing batch of students 2014-15.
Prize in State Level Chess Tournament.
09-09-2015.
12 of our students have participated in State level chess competition held at Nalanda Degree College in Vijayawada held during 09-09-2015 to 10-09-2015 and our students got 3rd prize in this tournament.
Infrastructural Developments
New Furniture: We made 20 sets Benches & Desks for at the cost of Rs. 2,66,700 for the benefit of college students.
New Initiatives
18-09-2015.
Sr. Chinni and Mrs. Lakshmi met Regional Inspection Officer (intermediate) on 18-09-2015 for submitting our request for self examination center in our college campus itself for the Intermediate public examinations. He his fully supportive of our students and asked us to apply to the Board of Intermediate Examinations at Hyderabad.
Consequently, Sr. Chinni went to Hyderabad to meet the Director of Intermediate Education and submitted the application for self examination center on 21-09-2015.
Cultural Meet
19-09-2015.
The cultural meet 2015 was organized by the Madonna Jr. & Degree College for the Deaf during 19th – 22nd, September 2015. This provided a platform for the students to exhibit their hidden talents. This competition is aimed at nurturing the innovative spirit of the students.

RIO Visit
05-10-2015.
In continuation to our appeal to the BIE, Hyderabad to allot a self examination center in our college campus for the Intermediate public examinations made on 18th September, the Regional Inspection Officer (intermediate) Sri. Raja Rao, visited our college on 05-10-2015. He along with A.O Mr. Udaya Baskar and Senior Assistant Sri. Subrahmanyam inspected the Records and the campus. They are fully supportive and made suitable recommendations to the Board of Intermediate Examinations at Hyderabad. We are expecting orders from BIE, soon.
Online Examination Application (Academic year 2015-2016.)
From the Academic year 2015-2016 the Krishna University has introduced the system of online submission of examination applications. We have submitted the applications of 72 students in B.Com I year through online mode to appear for the I semester examinations in December 2015.
Quarterly Examination 2015
The Quarterly Examinations were conducted by the college for the Intermediate and Degree students during 8th October, 2015 to 15th October, 2015. All our students wrote the examinations well. The college was closed for Dasara vacation during 15th October to 25th October and was re-opened on 26th October, 2015.
58th International Day of Deaf Celebrations 2015
Deaf Enabled Foundation organized Art competition on 14th October 2015 in our college. 80 Students have participated in these competitions and got 1st , 3rd,4th,5th, prizes. They also have conducted a Dance competition on 1st November, 2015 as a part of friendship evening on the occasion of 58th International Day of the deaf at Siddhartha Academy for General Technical Education at Moghalrajpuram. Four of our students participated and got 1st and 3rd prizes.

N.S.S. Special camp
A special camp for the N.S.S volunteers was organized by the Krishna University at Nedamanuru from 26th October, 2015 to 3rd November, 2015. From our college, 100 students participated and contributed to the community development.
On 26th October, the camp started with the inaugural function where in the president and ward members of Nedamanuru participated. The volunteers under took works such as cleaning of water tank, school campus and streets. They also organized adult literacy and cultural programmes for the benefit of local community. On 3rd November the valedictory function was held. Our Principal, Sr.Elizabeth Rani, N.S.S project officer Sr. Chinni, Mrs. Kamalakshi PET teacher and ward members of Nedamunuru and other dignitaries participated. All of them appreciated the dedicated services rendered by our students. It was a refreshing experience for all our students for having rendered their services to the society.
I Semester Examination 2015 to 2016 B.Com I Year
From the Academic Year 2015 – 2016, the Krishna University introduced the Semester system of examinations for the B.Com I Year students. Accordingly we conducted the 1st semester examinations from 6th to 10th November, 2015. 72 students have appeared for these examinations.
Donation to camel Ashram
We the Madonna College for the deaf donated an amount of Rs.20,000/- to the Carmel Ashram for the purpose of building the chapel.
Depavali Celebration
The Depavali function in our campus was celebrated on 10-11-2015 at 10.30 Am in simple manner. All the staff and students participated and joyfully enjoyed the day.
New Website for the College
A new website for our Madonna College was launched on 3rd November 2015. The link for our site is www.madonnacollege.weebly.com . This site could act as a window to our stakeholders and is being updated regularly. The development and hosting charges for this new website is Rs.8500/- and has tools and links to social media such as Face book.
Staff Picnic to Papikondal
The staff were taken for a picnic to Papikonadul at Polavaram on 2-11-2015. All the Lecturers and supporting staff participated in their picnic. They enjoyed the day and returned with rejuvenated energy.
Swatch Bharath Programme on 25-11-15.
Swatch Bharath programme, as a part of N.S.S activity was organised on 25th November, 2015 at ESIC, SRO Gunadala and 50 volunteers of N.S.S actively participated. They cleaned the ground in front of ESIC and proved themselves that they are on par with any normal people in the society. ESIC staff members were impressed and appreciated our volunteers. The N.S.S Co-Ordianator Mrs.Kamalakshi and the Lecturer of Civics Mr. Ramu along with ESIC staff and Joint Director of ESIC Gunadala participated in this programme.
Unit Test - III
We conducted III Unit Test for Inter and Degree Students of our college from 24-11-15 to 28-11-15.
AIDS Awareness programme ( NSS )
Madonna College for the deaf has organised a rally to create awareness on AIDS. Holding a number of banners with attractive slogans, our students started the Rally from our college at 11.30 a.m on 1.12.15 and reached the Govt, Hospital. Sr.Chinni N.S.S programme officer, Mrs. Kamalakshi Physical educational teacher and Mr. Laxman Rao along with 50 students marched forward to the hospital. We gave AIDS awareness through drama to the patients in the Hospital. Mr. gave the message for our students and programme concluded at 2 p.m.
College visit by Education Commission Members
Rev. Sr. Virgil Mary and Rev.Sr.Dhayamary, the members of the Education Commission of our Province, paid a visit to our college on 1-11-2015. Rev Sr.Elizabeth Rani along with students welcomed them. The members visited all the classes. The formal programme began with a prayer song. Ms. Sony welcomed them with a shawl and a memento and our students presented a short cultural programme. The Commission members appreciated the management, staff and students for conducting a number of curricular and co-curricular activities and for maintaining a clean campus. Interaction with the students was appreciated by the commission members.
Sports Federation of the Deaf A.P Selection Trials
Selection Trials was held in Siddhartha College of Engineering, Kanuru on 5.12.15 to select the Team to represent A.P in the Sports meet to be held in Hyderabad. Our students numbering 26 have participated in this selection trials and 22 of them were selected to the XX National Games for the deaf to be held from January, 4th to 8th, 2016.
Online B.Com _I year Students practical Examination Marks
We have submitted I Semester practical Examination marks of our first year B.Com students through online to Krishna University at Machilipatnam.
Certificate Course in IT Application (CITA)
A certificate course in IT applications is offered to the interested students of our college in association with Andhra Loyola College. We conducted the practical examinations of the certificate course in IT applications (CITA) on 7th December, 2015 in our campus. Dr. G. Sahaya Baskaran of Andhra Loyola college was the Examiner for the practical examinations. The first batch of 25 students participated in this examination and have scored good marks.
